In his first solo exhibition at the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA), painter and graphic designer Mark Hartman creates dimensional wall pieces that incorporate painting, metal embossing, and cut shapes. Influenced by the work of Frank Stella, Eddie Dominguez, and Paul Rand as well as elements of graphic design, the objects dispel with “frames, rectangles, and canvas.” Hartman is an Associate Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
